The Gujarat Congress has taken a dig at a BJP MLA who tested positive for coronavirus on Thursday and got admitted at a private hospital.
Congress MLA from Jamalpur-Khadia, Imran Khedawala, took a jibe on the BJP MLA for not opting for government-run hospitals. “Did the BJP legislator not trust the state government’s claim that government hospitals were rendering the best treatment?” he asked.
Notably, Khedawala had earlier contracted the virus and got admitted to the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation-run Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (SVP) Hospital. He, eventually, won the battle against COVID-19 and praised the hospital administration for taking care of him.
The Gujarat High Court has recently criticised the state government for the poor handling of the coronavirus crisis and the shoddy state of affairs at Ahmedabad Civil Hospital where coronavirus patients are being treated. It had, in fact, remarked that the condition of Ahmedabad Civil Hospital was worse than a dungeon.
Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson Bharat Pandya said the condition of the MLA was stable.
