Senior Congress leaders lodged a police complaint with High Ground Police station in Bengaluru against Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday. They have alleged that BJP by making provocative statements has promoted enmity and hatred and has maligned opposition. The leaders, who complained, include Randeep Singh Surjewala, Dr Parmeshwar, and DK Shivakumar.
After lodging the complaint, Karnataka Congress chief DK Shivakumar said, “ The Union Home Minister has said if Congress gains the power there will be communal riots. Why he is giving such statements ? We have filed a complaint about the point with Election Commission.”
Congress general secretary and in-charge for Karnataka Randeep Surjewala said, ” If the Home Minister of India gives false statements which can create conflict between religions and communities, then who will protect the law and order ? We have registered an FIR against Union Home Minister Amit Shah.”
