Karnataka assembly elections have been completed in a peaceful environment and the counting of votes is about to take place. But before the counting political rhetoric has intensified on the claims of exit polls. Many Exit polls claim that the Congress is going to form the government, while JDS, a local party, may once again play the role of Kingmaker. Overall, according to expectations, there will be a close fight between Congress and BJP. Meanwhile, the leaders of both the parties have rejected the figures of exit polls and claimed to form the government in Karnataka.

According to Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, exit polls in UP had shown that Yogi ji would not come back into the power, but he did. In Karnataka too, the last exit poll had predicted 80 seats to the BJP and 107 to the Congress, but whatever happened was contradictory to the prediction. Bommai said,” We are confident that we will form our government with a majority. The exit polls have been done in haste, and polls which have many mistakes. The exit polls were proved wrong last time as well and will be proved wrong this time too.”
Karnataka Congress President DK Shivakumar also rejected the figures and said,” I do not believe in these (exit poll) figures because all the surveys predict different figures. I stand by my figure of 146+. The people of Karnataka also want a change in Karnataka, which is free from corruption. The double engine government in Karnataka has been failed.”
Shivakumar added, ” I am a practical down to earth person, exit polls have been successful often and many times they have also failed. Exit polls have their own theory, I don’t believe them… We will form our government with majority.”
Union Minister and BJP leader Shobha Karandlaje said, ” We will prove the exit polls wrong. Our workers have done a lot of work at the ground level. For the first time PM Modi has held such a meeting in Karnataka, people gave him a lot of love.”
