Chandigarh: The Congress has released a list of 86 candidates for upcoming Punjab Assembly elections.

Incumbent Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi will contest the elections from Chamkaur Sahib SC, the seat he holds currently.

State Congress president Navjyot Singh Sidhu will fight once again from Amritsar East.

Malvika Sood, sister of Bollywood actor and social activist Sonu Sood, who joined the party recently has been given the ticket from Moga.

The Assembly elections in the state will be held in a single phase on February 14. The counting of votes will take place on March 10.

Congress, which is the ruling party in the state, may face a bigger challenge this time with former CM Amarinder Singh’s Punjab Lok Congress allying with BJP and AAP intensifying its efforts to make gains in the state.
