Former Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) president Bharatsinh Solanki has been shifted to the Sterling Hospital in Ahmedabad. Solanki had been admitted to a private hospital in Vadodara but it was decided to move him to Ahmedabad Bharatsinh Solanki as his condition was not seeing much improvement.
Shankersinh Vaghela, former chief minister of Gujarat, was also admitted to the Sterling Hospital after testing positive for the disease recently.Media reports said Solanki was in need of oxygen support as of now.
Two days after the Rajya Sabha elections, Congress candidate Solanki had tested positive for the disease. Solanki, who had lost the polls, had interacted with several Congress leaders during the Rajya Sabha polls. He got himself tested for the disease after he began to feel unwell.
Later, former Congress Ahmedabad city president Chetan Raval and another leader Maulin Vaishnav also tested positive for the disease.
Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Gujarat S Murali Krishna was put under quarantine after the official came in touch with Solanki. Several other officials involved in the Rajya Sabha polls were also asked to go into quarantine for the same reason. Congress MLA Himmatsinh Patel was also put under quarantine for the same reason.
