Gujarat Kisan Congress chairman Paal Ambaliya has written a letter to the DGP of the state seeking that action be taken against cops who had allegedly beaten him. Ambaliya and some other Congress workers had some days ago taken bags full of onion, potato and other vegetables near the Rajkot collector officer to demand that farmers be given adequate price for their produce . The cops had arrested Amabliya and five others and the leader had accused the state police of hitting him.
He has alleged in the letter that despite his complaint, police have not filed a case against the accused and seem to be wanting to shield them. He said that he had planned to walk on foot to come to meet the state police chief but the administration had prevented him from doing so by putting him in quarantine.
He said while it was possible for the administration to put him in quarantine it does not mean they cannot file a case against those responsible for beating him. The letter said that he needed to know on what grounds the case was not being registered . He also sought a meeting with the DGP through video conferencing and said that if his appeals were not headed he would create a mobile quarantine van and drive to meet him. He also said that he would go for a fast unto death if the complaint against the cops were not registered.
