Cloudburst in Uttarakhand: 2 dead in Jumma village


The cloudburst happened in Jumma village of Uttarakhand around midnight

Dehradun: At least two people were been killed following cloudburst in Jumma village in Dharchula in Uttarakhand. A few people are believed to be stuck in debris. Also, at least seven houses were damaged because of the heavy rain.

Severe waterlogging has been reported following the cloudburst, which is said to have happened around midnight.

The state has been witnessing landslides because of incessant heavy rains. “2 people were killed, 5 buried under debris due to a landslide near Jumma village of Pithoragarh district. District Magistrate ordered to intensify the rescue mission,” Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami tweeted.

Last week, there was a cloudburst near Satala Devi temple in Khabadwala village in the state.
