Citizenship Act Protests: DMRC Shuts 14 Metro Stations Due to the Ongoing Protest

Amid the protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act across the country, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has decided to close 14 metro stations due to which Delhiites are facing a lot of problems. Protests are going to be held in 11 cities of the country today due to which the Metro Corporation has decided to keep the station close.

Earlier in the morning, the DMRC had closed gates of seven metro stations, including Jamia Millia, Jama Masjid and Munirka “Entry & exit gates of Patel Chowk, Lok Kalyan Marg, Udyog Bhawan, ITO, Pragati Maidan and Khan Market are closed.Trains will not halt at these stations.

Earlier violence took place during the demonstrations by students of Jamia Millia Islamia. Many buses were set on fire in it. The police had lathi charged and released tear gas shells to disperse the protesters. After this there was a strong demonstration in Seelampur and Zafrabad areas. The protest turned violent and the miscreants set some buses on fire and also vandalized the police booth.
