CISF jawan commits suicide using AK-47


A jawan of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) posted at Bhilwara in Rajasthan committed suicide on Tuesday by shooting himself with his AK-47 service rifle. The deceased was identified as B Ranjit Kumar and he belonged to Tamil Nadu.

No suicide note was found in his possession. The deceased was to get married in February this year and returned to work from a holiday in December.

Deceased was on night duty

Ranjit Kumar was on night duty in the 9th Reserve Battalion of the CISF and around 5 am, the other jawans of the CISF, who were sleeping in the barracks, heard the gunshots. Some of the jawans rushed to the guard room after hearing the gunshots and found Ranjit Kumar lying in a pool of blood.

The rifle was on auto mode when the trigger was pulled and four bullets had pierced the body of the jawan. Two bullets hit the nearby wall after piercing through his body. There were four wounds found in the body of the jawan.

No clue why the CISF jawan committed suicide

The body was taken to the civil hospital where the doctors declared him “ brought dead”. The family members of Ranjit Kumar have been informed. Senior officers who probed the matter said that his co-workers never heard from the dead jawan about his problem and they had no clue why the jawan took his life.
