PM Modi inaugurates new circuit house near Somnath temple


Gandhinagar/New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new Circuit House near Somnath temple in Gujarat on Friday morning. He did the inauguration via video conferencing. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel joined the ceremony virtually from Gandhinagar.

PM Modi congratulated the state government, the Somnath temple trust and others on the occasion, adding that the new Circuit House would benefit many pilgrims.

In his address, he said that around 1 crore devotees visit the temple every year, thus necessitating a circuit house.

He pointed out that the temple which was destroyed was renovated because of the efforts of Sardar Patel.

He noted that transport facility, waste management, parking facilities, tourist facilitation centre are some of the areas where the temple town has witnessed development.

“Initiatives like Incredible India & Dekho Apna Desh are opening up the endless possibilities in the tourism sector,” he said.

The rooms in the circuit house will provide a scenic view of the sea.
