Thirty-five employees of Medusind Solutions which has its office at Corporate Road in Prahladnagar were cheated of lakhs of rupees by a staff member who promised them excellent returns in the stock market.
As per the complaint, the accused lured the employees with the promise of good returns and then got them to swipe their credit cards at the shop of his friend Rahul. He would then pay Rahul a commission and used the employees’ money to bet on forex and stock markets.
The cheating complaint by Pragnesh Parmar, a resident of Amraiwadi who works with Medusind Company, is filed against his colleague Ghanshyam Vada, a resident of Isanpur, and one Rahul Sharma, a resident of Narol.
How the cheating happened
As per the complaint, Ghanshyam told Pragnesh about his friend Rahul who ran a grocery shop in Ramol. He asked him to swipe his credit card so that Rahul can have access to the money which he will invest in forex and stocks.
Ghanshyam even promised a commission if Pragnesh swiped his card. Pragnesh gave Ghanshyam the credit card for two of his banks in December 2020. Ghanshyam used the credit card to get Rs2.25 lakh. Later he returned Rs1.5 lakh by way of a cheque and promised to return the rest by cash.
It later turned out that his account did not have the necessary balance to encash the cheque.
Later, Pragnesh filed a case with the Sarkhej Police station. A probe revealed that the accused had similarly cheated other employees of the company – Dhruv Jagdish, Rahul Joshi, Paras Patel, and Ravindra Nadar, and 31 others.
