By-elections: Congress wins all 3 Assembly seats of Himachal Pradesh

New Delhi: In a major morale booster ahead of State Assembly elections next year, the Congress won all three Assembly seats that had gone to polls in Himachal Pradesh.

By-elections were held on three Parliamentary and 30 Assembly constituencies on October 30. The elections for Parliamentary seats were held in UT of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Madhya Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh

Counting of votes began on Tuesday morning. By afternoon, results showed that Congress had made big gain in Himachal Pradesh, bagging all the three seats. These are Fatehpur, Arki and Jubbal-Kotkhai. In Mandi, Pratibha Singh, widow of late CM Virbhadra Singh, was leading till last reports came in.

In Assam, BJP was winning four Assembly seats.

In Nagaland, Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party won Shamator Chessore Assembly seat, the only one that went to polls in the state.

In Rajasthan, Congress won the by-elections in Dhariawad Assembly seat.

Trinamool Congress made a clean sweep in West Bengal elections, winning all four seats that went to polls.
