The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board on Sunday declared the results for students who had appeared in class 12 board examinations for the science stream. Notably, over 1.16 lakh students appeared in the exam and 83,111 students have passed, which brings the pass percentage to 71.34.
Boys have outshined girls this time with 71.69 per cent boys passing the exam as against 70.85 per cent of girls. Interestingly, 91.42 per cent students who appeared in the board exam from the examination centre at Dhrol, whereas the pass percentage of students appearing in the exam from Limkheda is the worst with 23.02 per cent.
As far as the performance of districts is concerned, Rajkot is the best performer with 84.69 per cent students passing the exam, whereas Chhota Udepur with 32.64 per cent students passing the exam is the worst performing district.
Unfortunately, there are only 36 schools in the state that have achieved 100 per cent results, whereas there are 68 schools where less than 10 per cent students have passed.
Education minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama said the class 12 science board exams were held from March 5 to 21 in the state. However, the evaluation of the answer sheets was affected due to the lockdown imposed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The board had resumed the evaluation of the answer sheets after it had to be stopped due to the lockdown. It was resumed again in mid-April.
