Blast in Lahore’s Anarkali Bazaar leaves at least 3 dead, 20 injured

Lahore: A powerful blast at the busy Anarkali Bazaar in Lahore in Pakistan on Thursday left at least three persons dead and around 20 injured.

The blast occurred at Pan Mandi.

The cause of the blast has not yet been confirmed; however, initial reports suggest at a bomb blast.

Dawn quoted police spokesperson Rana Arif saying that a bomb had been “planted” in a motorcycle.

According to the same report, DIG-Operations Abid Khan said that the impact of the blast had left behind a crater, suggesting that the blast had been caused by a bomb.

A few of the injured are in a critical condition. The number of casualties is likely to go up.
