Even as Ahmedabad gears up for the civic body polls a BJP corporator got the shock of his life when his name went missing from the voter’s list.
Jatin Patel, BJP’s sitting corporator from Ghatlodia has had his name deleted from the voter’s list. Patel had sought a ticket from the BJP to contest the upcoming AMC civic body elections.
If a candidate’s name is missing from the voter’s list the candidate is not eligible to contest the elections.
The BJP’s local unit is also trying to get the matter resolved. Now, many theories are doing the round as to why Jatin Patel’s name went missing. It should be noted that the BJP has not announced the names of the civic body poll candidates so far.
How corporators name got deleted
As per details, Jatin Patel had made an application to delete his father’s name from the voter’s list. His father had passed away and Patel made the application to get his name deleted from the voter’s list. But to Patel’s shock, his name was also deleted along with that of his father.
The angry corporator also created a ruckus at the collector’s office over his name going missing. Ahmedabad collector Sandeep Sagle told Gujarat Exclusive that he has got the corporator’s application in this connection and they are looking into the matter.
Gujarat Exclusive tried to reach Jatin Patel but he did not respond to calls. BJP corporator Jatin Patel has been the Road Committee Chairman in the AMC.
