BJP worker in Surat beats up migrant for questioning black-marketing of tickets

A video of a migrant worker being beaten up after he sought a return of his travel money from a BJP worker has gone viral. The video purportedly shows the man bleeding after he was beaten up by a BJP worker in Limbayat for seeking the return of his money.

The injured man identified as a migrant Vasudev alleged that on May 5 he had given BJP worker Rajesh Verma Rs1.16 lakh to buy a ticket for 100 people. Verma had allegedly asked Vasudev to collect the ticket on May 6. When he went asking for the ticket on May 7, Verma allegedly beat him with a wooden bat. The migrant has alleged that Verma bought the ticket and sold it for Rs2000 each to other migrants.

It should be noted that the BJP has asked its workers to register the names of migrants who want to return home. It has asked the workers to collect the money from migrants and ensure they get a ticket in return. Each worker from each area has been given responsibility for the same.

The BJP had given the work of ensuring coordination to one Rajesh Verma in Limbayat area of Surat. He was to help migrants who wanted to go to Jharkhand.
