New Delhi: Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has claimed that the municipal corporation has plans to raze around 63 lakh houses in the national capital.
Sisodia has written to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, urging him to put a stop on the “destruction” on account of the anti-encroachment drive.
“BJP’s controversy of recovery using bulldozer in Delhi. BJP has plans to inflict destruction on 63 lakh homes,” Manish Sisodia said in a tweet.
Of these, 60 lakh are in temporary colonies and slums, while 3 lakh are in permanent colonies,” he added.
“BJP’s message to these 63 lakh families is clear. Either give money or be ready to be destroyed by bulldozers,” he added in his tweet.
Sisodia claimed that the bulldozing will leave almost 70 per cent of the national capital’s population homeless.
He said that the Aam Aadmi Party would oppose the drive, adding that he had sought Amit Shah’s intervention in the matter. “If bulldozers must be used, it should be to demolish the houses of BJP leaders who took bribe to allow construction of illegal structures,” he said.
