BJP Councilor of MP Usman Patel Resigns in Protest Against the CAA

Protests are being held all over the country regarding the Citizenship Amendment Act. At the same time, many BJP leaders had also opposed this Act. Many leaders have also resigned from the party while opposing this law. BJP councilor of Madhya Pradesh Usman Patel had resigned from the party to protest against the CAA. After resigning from all the posts he was holding in the BJP. Patel said that, “BJP has moved away from the real issues. It’s doing only communal politics. GDP is going doing, inflation is rising but the party is bringing laws that create rift between people of all religions”.

It may be noted that the minority community of the country is getting very angry with the BJP on the issue of Citizenship Amendment Act and National Register of Citizens. Protest against the CAA in Shaheen Bagh have now become a center, while reports of protests are coming out in many other places including Ghantaghar of Lucknow, India Gate of Mumbai. At the same time, the Bharatiya Janata Party is working to spread awareness on CAA on a war foot. Despite this, the party does not see success in this campaign.

BJP is also campaigning at the state level to make minorities aware on this law. But now angry with the party, people associated with BJP are now seen breaking ties with the party. This is not the first case when a BJP leader has left the party with this law as the reason.
