Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) president Chirag Paswan on Sunday said that he welcomed any criticism by BJP leaders and Prime Minister Narendra Modi if they had to do it to satisfy Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
He, however, warned them to use the words wisely.
His remarks came a day after BJP leader and Union home minister Amit Shah said that Chirag Paswan should not harbour any illusions. Shah’s comment was in reply to Paswan’s earlier comment that he was ‘Hanuman of Modi’.
Earlier Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Shushi Modi had called the LJP voter-cutters.
“He (Nitish Kumar) has wasted most of his time showing that the LJP and BJP are divided. The Chief Minister is fielding all big BJP leaders to speak against me and they are free to do so. Even the Prime Minister can criticise me if he wants, to satisfy the chief minister,” Chirag Paswan was quoted by a media agency.
“Nitish Kumar Ji should thank the BJP colleagues that despite the resentment against him they are playing coalition with him and are handing out certificates to Nitish Kumar Ji that they are not with Chirag,” he tweeted.
Chirag Paswan also thanked PM Modi for supporting him during his tough phase and inspired him to bring out his ”Bihar first, Bihari first” vision document.
Bihar goes to polls in three phases on October 28, November 3 and November 7. Results for the 243 assembly seats will be declared on November 10.
The LJP is fighting the elections on its own after breaking ranks with the ruling coalition. It has decided not too put up candidates against the BJP but will fight Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United).
Chirag Paswan’s LJP is B-team of BJP, RJD leader
As BJP continues to clarify that Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) is not part of the NDA in Bihar, leader of the opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav took an indirect dig at LJP.
He called it the B-team of the BJP and a ‘vote splitter’.
Without taking names Tejashwi Yadav asked the voters at his rallies in Mokama, Sheikhpura, Jamui and Nawada to be cautious of the B-team of the BJP.
