Bhupendra Patel, who was chosen as the leader of the BJP legislature party on Sunday, will take oath as the new CM of Gujarat on Monday. State BJP president CR Patil made an announcement in this regard.
Patil, while interacting with the media, said that only Bhupendra Patel will take oath on Monday and the changes in the state Cabinet will be decided soon. No discussion was held in the legislature party meeting about the deputy chief minister’s post, he said.
Meanwhile, the CM-elect met Governor Acharya Devvrat at Raj Bhawan on Sunday evening. After being selected by the BJP to lead the state government, Patel extended his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah. Also, Bhupendra Patel said the blessing of former CM Anandiben Patel was with him all the time.

Several people congratulated Patel on the development, including Union home minister Amit Shah, BJP Gujarat president CR Patil, BJP MLAs Vijay Rupani and Nitin Patel.
Union home minister Amit Shah said, “@bhupendrapbjp Hearty congratulations and best wishes on being elected the leader of the BJP legislature party. I believe under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and your leadership, the state’s continuous development journey will get new energy and momentum and Gujarat will continue to be a leader in good governance and public welfare.”
BJP leader Sambit Patra said, “Congratulations to Shri @Bhupendrapbjp ji on being elected as the new Chief Minister of Gujarat. The pace of development of Gujarat will accelerate further under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji and leadership of Shri Bhupendra Patel ji.”
Vijay Rupani described Bhupendra Patel as a “capable” leader. “Bhupendra Patel is capable. We believe BJP will win the upcoming elections in the state under his leadership,” he said.
Union minister Smriti Irani said, “Congratulations to @Bhupendrapbjp Ji on being elected as the Chief Minister of Gujarat. My best wishes to you as you get ready to take the state of Gujarat to greater heights and set new precedents of development in days to come.”
