Bharuch student goes missing at Niagara Falls, suspected to be dead

A student from Bharuch in Gujarat is reported to have drowned in the Niagara Falls in Canada. The student, identified as Samir Nabipurwala, was studying in Canada for his medical degree. The resident of President Park society in Bharuch had gone to Niagara Falls with his friends to clelerbatre his birthday. It is not known how Samir fell into the water. A search operation has been intiaitived and both boats and helicopters pressed into service to look for him. As of now his body has not been found but it is believed that he might not have survived the fall.

In 2017, a 10 year boy had a miraculous escape after he lost his balance and plummeted into the depths. The boy was sitting on a railing near the Horseshoe Falls, the largest of the three waterfalls that make up the Niagara Falls. Over a dozen people have been killed at the falls includings Kirk Jones who died in 2017 after going over the falls in an inflatable ball. He had survived a similar stunt in 2003. In 2011, a Japanese exchange student died when she slipped and fell into the falls.
