BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has announced a Rs 5 crore bonus for the Indian team for defeating Australia in the Gabba Test and winning a Test series—a win that will remain in the history of India cricket forever. This is the first time that Australia has been beaten in 32 years at Gabba. Australia was last defeated at Gabba by West Indies in 1988. Since then, Australia has played 31 matches at the venue and won 24, and has drawn 7.
PM Modi praises team India
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday praised the Indian cricket team for the victory and said that the country is overjoyed at its success in Australia. He also praised the team for exhibiting stellar intent, remarkable grit and determination.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai congratulated India for “one of the greatest test series wins ever” in a tweet. Businessman Harsh Goenka said, “What a victory! This Indian team enters amongst the PANTheons of one of the most gutsy, resilient and greatest teams ever.” This apart, the team was also congratulated by various sports personalities, politicians and people from all walks of life.
