While the Supreme Court had put to rest all controversies and fights over the Ram janmabhoomi site, Shiv Sena on Wednesday sparked a new controversy over the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
Just before the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Shiv Sena mouthpiece ‘Saamana’ carried a controversial advertisement on the Babri Masjid demolition.
The advertisement published in Wednesday’s edition depicts a picture of Babri Masjid demolition with a photo of Balasaheb Thackeray. Along with Balasaheb Thackeray’s photo, a statement reads, “I am proud of the men who did this”.
The advertisement, given by Shiv Sena secretary Milind Narvekar, also has photos of Maharashtra CM and Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray and minister Aaditya Thackeray.
Shiv Sena miffed over not getting invited to the event
Interestingly, the Shiv Sena is miffed over no invitation to the grand and historic event in Ayodhya. In articles in Saamana on Wednesday, the Shiv Sena has said that it played a pivotal role in Babri Masjid demolition, but still has not been invited for Ram Mandir bhoomi pujan ceremony.
Senior Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut had indicated on Monday that CM Uddhav Thackeray was unlikely to visit Ayodhya for the Bhoomi Pujan for Ram temple construction on August 5 owing to the serious COVID-19 situation in the Uttar Pradesh town.
“It is important that the PM is going. The chief minister (Thackeray) can go there anytime,” Raut had told reporters while extending good wishes for the ceremony.
COVID-19 pandemic will fade away with the blessings of Lord Ram
Meanwhile, in an editorial on Tuesday, the Shiv Sena had said there is no other golden moment like Prime Minister Narendra Modi breaking the ground to mark the start of construction work.
The COVID-19 crisis is prevailing in the country, but it will disappear with the blessings of Lord Ram, an editorial in Shiv Sena mouthpiece ”Saamana” had said.
The Shiv Sena noted that BJP veterans LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi, key leaders attached to the Ram temple construction campaign, will witness the sweet end of the battle of temple construction via video conferencing from Delhi.
“The country has become excited in view of the ”bhoomi pujan” ceremony. There is no other golden moment like the country’s prime minister breaking the ground (for temple construction),” the Sena said.
“Coronavirus is prevailing. It has spread in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh and the entire country. This crisis, too, will fade away with the blessings of Lord Ram, it said.
