Mumbai: Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan will have to wait longer to be freed from jail. The Mumbai sessions court hearing a case of drugs against him has reserved the order till October 20, which is next Wednesday.
Aryan Khan was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on October 2 for allegedly procuring and consuming drugs during a raid on a cruise ship off Mumbai coast.
The cruise ship which was on way from Mumbai to Goa.
Aryan has been in jail for more than 10 days now with his friends Arbaaaz Merchant and model Munmun Dhamecha and others.
The NCB has opposed his bail plea, arguing that he is in touch with people who seem to be part of an international drug supply network.
At the time of their arrest, NCB had claimed that they had enough evidence in the form of WhasApp chats and calls to show they were involved in purchase and possession of drugs
While opposing the bail, the ASG who was appearing for NCB said that Aryan should not be granted bail as he could tamper with evidence. He alleged that the youngster was not a first-time consumer and that evidence placed on record showed that he was a regular consumer of contraband.
Aryan’s laywer called NCB’s allegations of the youngster involved in illicit drug trafficking as “inherently absurd”.
The court will now give its order on October 20.
Earlier in the day, Aryan and 5 others were shifted from quarantine barrack to common cell in Arthur Road jail after they tested negative for Covid-19.
