After the Enforcement Directorate issued a notice to AAP’s national secretary Pankaj Gupta, party chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has lashed out at the ruling BJP. Notably, Pankaj Gupta has been summoned by the central probe agency in connection with a money laundering case involving former party leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira, who is now with the Congress.
Kejriwal took to Twitter on the issue. He said, “In Delhi, they tried to defeat us with IT Dept, CBI, Delhi Police – but we won 62 seats. As we grow in Punjab, Goa, Uttarakhand, Guj – we get an ED notice! The people of India want honest politics- these tactics of BJP will never succeed, they will make us stronger.”
AAP’s national spokesperson and MLA Raghav Chadha also attacked the Narendra Modi-led Union government. He said, “In a first, AAP receives a love letter from Modi Government’s favorite agency—the Enforcement Directorate.”
Chadha also lashed out at the probe agency terming it as a “puppet” of the government. “Enforcement Directorate should be given an office space just beside the BJP headquarters. They are a frontal organization of BJP,” he said.

AAP MLA Satyendar Jain said, “CBI raids, IT notices, false cases = Thumping majority in Delhi. So this ED notices means that @AamAadmiParty is going to have electoral success in Punjab, Goa, Uttarakhand, Gujarat and UP. First, changing of 2 CMs, now ED notice clearly shows #ModiFearsKejriwal.”

Cases against Khaira
Khaira is under investigation in two cases registered earlier this year to investigate money laundering – first based on a trans-border drugs smuggling network unearthed in Fazilka, Punjab in 2015, and the second pertaining to a fake passport racket in Delhi. There is no clarity so far on why Pankaj Gupta has been summoned.
