Kolkata: Arpita Mukherjee, a close aide of former TMC leader Partha Chatterjee, has claimed that the money found by the Enforcement Directorate from her house does not belong to her.

The ED has recovered more than Rs 50 crore cash, besides foreign currency and gold bars, during raids at her residences.

Partha Chatterjee was sacked from the Mamata Banerjee Cabinet after the SSC recruitment scam surfaced. He has been accused of illegal appointments in government-run school during his earlier term as West Bengal education minister.

He has also been suspended from the party pending investigation.

He and Arpita Mukherjee were arrested by the ED following the cash seizure.
