Actor Arjun Rampal on Wednesday did not appear before the Narcotics Control Bureau. Notably, the anti-drugs agency has earlier summoned Arjun Rampal to appear before it on Wednesday for further questioning in a drugs-related case.

The actor, however, did not appear before the agency. He has sought time till December 21 to appear before the anti-drugs agency. Arjun Rampal was summoned by the agency as part of the ongoing probe in the drugs angle in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case.

He was earlier questioned by the NCB on November 13.

Raid on Arjun Rampal’s home, office

NCB had on November 9 raided the residence of actor Arjun Rampal. Notably, the NCB conducted the raid at around 7 am at three locations in Mumbai—Andheri, Khar and Bandra—that includes the home and office of Arjun Rampal.

Recently, the NCB had also arrested South African national Agisialos Demetriades, brother of actor Arjun Rampal’s girlfriend Gabriella Demetriades in another drug case.

Reportedly, the agency had seized alprazolam tablets and hashish from Agisilaos Demetriades. NCB’s zonal director Sameer Wankhede had confirmed his arrest and has alleged that Agisialos was in touch with other drug peddlers related to the case.

Meanwhile, a special narcotic court in Mumbai on December 15 granted bail to Agisilaos Demetriades.

Former Dharma Productions employee Kshitij Prasad was also arrested in the same case earlier. Both Agisialos and Prasad were in touch with a Nigerian national arrested for the supply of cocaine in Mumbai.

Rhea, Showik out on bail

The drug case in question is the same under which actor Rhea Chakraborty was arrested. The ‘Jalebi’ actress is currently out on bail and has been asked to appear before the police, and to not leave Mumbai, especially without notifying the police first.

The drugs case began as a parallel investigation after actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s mysterious death on June 14, 2020.

NCB had previously arrested Sushant’s last girlfriend Rhea, her brother Showik Chakraborty, the late actor’s former house manager Samuel Miranda, and staff head Dipesh Sawant. The agency had also arrested Kshitij Prasad, a former employee of Dharma 2.0, in the Bollywood drug nexus case. Both Rhea and her brother Showik are out on bail.

Apart from NCB, the CBI and ED were given the task to conduct their own investigation in Sushant’s death case.

NCB had also arrested comedian Bharti Singh and her husband in a drug case. They also secured bail.
