Apprehension of new Covid-19 wave, Health Minister directs all states to conduct mock drills on 10-11 April

Union health minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya held a review meeting with the health ministers of all the states and union territories regarding Covid-19 situation. Mandavia expressed concern over rising cases of Covid-19 cases in the country. After meeting he said,” During meeting with the health ministers of all the states and union territories it was discussed to enhance the implementation of Covid-19 rules along with Covid-19 testing and Genome sequencing. We have to be alert, and there is no need to spread unnecessary panic.”

Union Minister Mandavia added that he appealed all health ministers to hold a review meeting, in view of the current situation of Covid -19 in their states, regarding health facilities and infrastructure. On April 10 and 11, there will be a mock drill over Covid -19 across the country, where all health ministers will visit the hospital.

After the meeting, Jharkhand Health Minister Banna Gupta while talking to media said, ” Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya interacted with the Health Ministers of the states. Some cases of corona have been recorded in some states, we have requested to issue a SOP at the national level so that it can be stopped in time. He has given instructions for mock drill, hence we will conduct mock drill on 10-11 April. We will hold a meeting through video conferencing with all concerned officials on 9th and review the preparations in the state to tackle the situation.
