New Delhi: Anar Mehta, a social entrepreneur from Ahmedabad, has been appointed as the International Commissioner (guide) of Hindustan Scouts & Guides Association (HSGA). The appointment comes after the decision by the HSGA National Executive and Council meeting to induct more members in the body to strengthen it.
Announcing Anar Mehta’s appointment, national chief commissioner of HSGA India Anil Pratham (IPS) said that as the international commissioner, Mehta would be responsible for relations with guides associations in other countries and with Indian groups in other countries.
She will also issue letters of introduction of guides and guides on their visits to other countries, he added.
She will also assist in the selection of persons for international events and visits, besides being responsible for arranging programmes for visitors from abroad.
Anar Mehta is also the founder of Srishtibharat Foundation, an NGO that works in the field of women empowerment. Last year, she joined Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WICCI) as the national president of the NRIs council.
