Union home minister Amit Shah will hold an all-party meeting on Monday to review the management for coronavirus in the National Capital Region (NCR). The NCR region covers Delhi and parts of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. The meeting will be held at 11 am in the North Block and Aam Aadmi Party, the Congress, BJP, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Samajwadi Party (SP) have been invited for the meet.
Earlier Uttar Pradesh and Haryana had sealed its borders with Delhi on the grounds that rising incidence of COVID-10 in the capital was spreading to their own states after the lockdown was removed. Uttar Pradesh has said it will continue the travel restrictions but Haryana had later allowed the travel.
Earlier in the day, Shah had a meeting with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and later announced a slew of measures as the capital registered a rapid rise in COVID-19 cases.
Among other things, he had said 500 train carriages will be made available to ensure that there is no shortage of beds for COVID-19 patients. He also said that testing facilities will be ramped up in the national capital.
