Amit Shah to arrive in Ahmedabad for voting in AMC election


Amid a busy schedule due to the ongoing poll campaign ahead of the West Bengal Assembly election, Union home minister Amit Shah will arrive in Ahmedabad on Saturday. He is likely to cast his vote in the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation election from Naranpura ward scheduled on Sunday.

He is also likely to remain present during the inaugural ceremony of Motera Stadium. The stadium is going to be inaugurated by President Ram Nath Kovind.

Notably, India and England are going to play the last two Test matches of the four match series at Motera Stadium and one of the Test matches will be a day and night affair.

Amit Shah, despite having a busy schedule and shouldering an array of responsibilities, usually takes his time out to fulfil his responsibility as a voter.

Matches at Motera Stadium

The third and fourth test matches between India and England are going to be played at Motera Stadium. While England won the first Test, India won the second Test and the next two Tests at Motera are going to decide the fate of the series.

This apart, India and England are also going to play five T20Is at Motera Stadium. The dates for T20Is are March 12, 14, 16, 18 and 20. The two teams are also going to play three ODIs at Pune in Maharashtra.

AMC elections

The elections for Ahmedabad as well as five other municipal corporations in the state are going to be held on Sunday. The election campaign by political parties has already come to an end today at 6 pm. The counting of votes will be done on February 23.
