Union home minister Amit Shah on Sunday voted in the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation election. He reached the voting centre in Naranpura ward on Sunday along with his family and exercised his franchise.
Amit Shah, despite his busy schedule due to the upcoming election in West Bengal, has returned to Ahmedabad to exercise his voting rights. He has also urged citizens to cast their votes in order to strengthen democracy.
Notably, Shah these days is busy in preparations for the upcoming Assembly polls in West Bengal apart from shouldering his numerous responsibilities as the Union home minister. He has been actively campaigning for the BJP in Bengal.
Amit Shah to visit Motera Stadium
Amit Shah is also likely to visit the Motera Stadium to take stock of the preparations for its inauguration ahead of the third Test between India and England that is going to be played there. Notably, President Ram Nath Kovind is expected to inaugurate the stadium.
The fourth Test between India and England in the four-match Test series is also going to be played at Motera. This apart, the two teams are also going to face each other in five T20I’s at the venue.
Vijay Rupani to vote in PPE suit
Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani is also expected to cast his vote on Sunday. CM Rupani, who has tested positive for COVID-19, is likely to be taken to Rajkot in an air ambulance and he will cast his vote while wearing a PPE kit.
Notably, Rupani was addressing a public rally at Vadodara where he fainted on stage. He was taken to the UN Mehta Hospital in Ahmedabad in a helicopter, where doctors carried out several tests on him. As a precautionary measure, the CM was also tested for COVID-19 and it came positive.
