The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has sealed two more units – a restaurant and an office of a pharma company – for COVID-19 violation norms.
The AMC has allowed offices and restaurants to function subject to certain rules and standard operating procedures.
The civic body has sealed a McDonald’s restaurant in Memnagar as well as the office of Savior Pharmaceuticals at Corporate Road Prahladnagar.
The civic body following a tip-off carried out a surprise visit at the restaurant and the office of the pharma company.
Earlier actions of AMC
The AMC found that employees were functioning without a mask and appropriate social distancing following which it sealed the units.
Earlier the civic body had sealed the Ahmedabad One Mall after it was found that shop owners and customers were violating COVID-19 norms.
The civic body had also initiated action against paan shop owners in the state for customers who spit in and around the paan shops.
The civic body had fined each paan shop Rs10,000 if their customers were found to be violating COVID-19 norms. Paan shops had called the move discriminatory.
Amit Shah writes to society chairmen
Gandhinagar MP Amit Shah has written to all society chairmen in the state Capital urging them to ensure that COVID-19 norms are not violated.
In a letter, Shah said that the government has given certain relaxations under Unlock3.0.
He said, however, the representatives of various societies need to ensure that no one is out on the streets without any genuine cause and that residents always wear a mask when going out.
He also urged people to wash their hands regularly and to avoid social gatherings.
