Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), in a massive drive aimed at recovery of outstanding property tax on Friday, sealed a total of 6016 properties in one day. AMC generated a revenue of Rs.20 crores as property tax under the drive.
AMC sealed 2226 properties in the east zone and a total of other 2060 properties in three trans-river zones for recovery of the property tax.
A campaign was undertaken by the AMC for receiving payment of outstanding property tax for previous years except the year 2022-23. Scheme will close in next 2 days, where AMC has given 100 percent interest waiver to the taxpayers who are regular in payment of taxes. Meanwhile, 2226 properties were sealed in various ward areas of East Zone.
772 properties of ward areas including Naranpura, Chandkheda, Ashram Road have been sealed due to arrears of tax in West Zone.
507 properties have been sealed in various ward areas of South West Zone for recovery of tax arrears.681 properties in different ward areas of central zone and 828 properties in different areas of south zone have been also sealed. Whereas, 221 properties in various wards of North Zone were sealed for recovery of due tax.
In the north-west zone, 781 properties were sealed in Bodakdev, Thaltej and other ward areas and an amount of Rs.5 crore was recovered. Meanwhile, an amount of Rs.4.30 crore have been received including advance tax rebate.
