AMC commissioner Vijay Nehra under home quarantine for two weeks

Ahmedabad Municipal Commissioner (AMC) Vijay Nehra has gone for two weeks of home quarantine after he came in contact with a Covid19 positive patient. Gujarat Maritime Board vice-chairman & CEO Mukesh Kumar has been given charge of the AMC until Nehra’s return.

Dr Rajivkumar Gupta, additional chief secretary (forest & environment) has been given the charge of monitoring, co-ordinating, supervising the whole activities related to Covid19 in Ahmedabad. Pankaj Kumar, additional chief secretary, revenue department, has been appointed as the special officer to coordinate, monitor and supervise the Covid19 response across the state.

It is not known if Mukesh Kumar will continue with Nehra’s everyday briefing of the Covid19 situation in the city. During his routine briefing on Tuesday morning, Nehra had said that the growth rate of Covid19 cases int eh city had fallen below 5 % for the first time since the pandemic began.
