Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared an email by a customer stating that he had cancelled his order after he discovered that Bezos supported the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement.
The letter accused the CEO of supporting worthless n*****s and said that he and others will watch as Amazon’s profits declined. The billionaire took a screenshot of the letter and shared it on Instagram stating that, “There have been a number of sickening but not surprising responses in my inbox since my last post. This sort of hate shouldn’t be allowed to hide in the shadows. It’s important to make it visible. This is just one example of the problem. And, Dave, you’re the kind of customer I’m happy to lose.”
The company has shown its support for the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement in the wake of George Floyd’s death. A video that went viral had shown a police officer kneeling on Floyd’s neck suffocating him.
Last week Bezos had shared an email from a customer who was upset about a ‘Black Lives Matter’ banner on the Amazon website. The email had a subject line, ‘All Lives Matter,’ and said that Amazon’s stance on the movement was “disturbing.”
Bezos had replied to the same stating that, “‘Black lives matter’ doesn’t mean other lives don’t matter. Black lives matter speaks to racism and the disproportionate risk that Black people face in our law enforcement and justice system.”
