Amazon fulfilment centre has been set up at the Gallops Industrial Park. The government-approved park is spread over 350 ha of land. As the centre begins functioning, Amazon deliveries across India will happen from Ahmedabad.
The park spread over 6 lakh sq ft is expected to provide employment to over 5,000 youth in and around Ahmedabad. It is also likely to give a boost to ancillary industries in the area.
Despite the shortcomings that businesses faced due to COVID-19, the firm led by Balram Padhiyar helped set up the infrastructure as per the demands of Amazon.
The centre is likely to give a boost to employment in Ahmedabad particularly the rural areas of the district. The centre boasts of the best facilities and safety infrastructure.
Several states were vying for the project but the ease of doing business in Gujarat is what snatched the deal for the state.
The Gallops Group built the fulfilment centre in 180 days while it constructed the sorting centre for the company in 75 days. The sorting centre is close to the airport.
