Gandhinagar: BJP leader Alpesh Thakor had to face defeat in by-election from Radhanpur assembly seat. In such a situation, the political stature of Thakor is gradually decreasing. Alpesh has attempted to corner the BJP Govt over the Lok Rakshak Dal(LRD) policy and demanded its withdrawal. Thakor’s Kshatriya Thakor Sena and OSS (OBC, SC and ST) Ekta Manch on Friday staged protests at 64 taluka places and alleged injustice to OBC, SC and ST women candidates in the LRD recruitment process. They handed over memorandum demanding withdrawal of the recruitment policy.
Alpesh has directly sought the intervention of CM Vijay Rupani, accusing the administration of neglecting the rights of poor women. OBC Ekta Manch, founder of Thakor Sena and former MLA Alpesh Thakor says that in August 2018, the state government issued a circular regarding the recruitment of LRD, due to which women of OBC, SC and ST category are reserved in the list of women reservation The benefit of class was not given. Alpesh says that the agitating women are from poor families, so they have been agitating on the road for two months and no one is going to listen. If there were agitations on five women of rich families, then candle marchers would also come down with the government and administration.
Alpesh said that he is not against the government of his own party, but wants to reach the government by becoming the voice of these women. Alpesh asked Chief Minister Vijay Rupani to intervene in the matter and said that I have been watching for two months, no one is ready to stand in support of the agitating women. I myself come from this society and it is my responsibility to convey their voice to the government. Alpesh also says that his soul is that of the agitator if needed he is also ready to take to the road with the agitating women.
