Congress turncoat Alpesh Thakor, who was sidelined in the BJP after losing the Patan bye-election, has once again come to the fore with the saffron party choosing him as a star campaigner for the local body polls scheduled in Gujarat later this month. Alpesh Thakor, who is once again trying to get back the lost ground, has expressed confidence that the BJP will sweep the local body polls with a huge margin.
No infighting in BJP: Alpesh Thakor
Alpesh Thakor, who will campaign for the candidates fielded by the BJP in the civic elections along with the likes of Union minister Smriti Irani, also asserted that there is no infighting in BJP. He said that party workers have worked hard to reach out to the people in need during the COVID-19 crisis and there is very good coordination between various hierarchies of the party.
He also asserted that the candidates for local body polls have been chosen properly and therefore, there is no question of any infighting.
Thakor said, “You will never see agitator Alpesh Thakor sitting quietly.” While expressing confidence about BJP’s victory in Patan, Thakor also said that he always speaks for the poor and he knows when and how to roar.
Taking a dig at the Congress, he said anti-social people are trying to break the unity in the society, they are trying to stop the development of the poor and the farmers.
BJP’s star campaigners
With just a few days left for the civic body elections in Gujarat, the BJP has released its list of star campaigners who will seek votes for the candidates fielded by the party.
The list of star campaigners released by the saffron party has 20 names. Apart from Alpesh Thakor, other senior BJP leaders who will campaign for the party candidates include Union minister Smriti Irani, Gujarat BJP president CR Patil, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel, and Union ministers of state Parshottam Rupala and Mansukh Mandaviya.
