Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad police had detained a Porsche 911 sports car two days ago. The car owner has been slapped a penalty of 9.8 lakhs by the Ahmedabad Regional Transport Office (RTO) for not having valid documents and legal number plates, police said on Friday. This is by far the biggest fine in the country that has been imposed by the police for breaking traffic.
In Ahmedabad, the traffic police conducted a traffic drive against luxury cars. During the drive Police detained a Porsche 911 model car worth 2.18 million near the helmet circle. The silver colour car was stopped by the traffic police at Helmet cross road here on Wednesday as it did not have number plates, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Tejas Patel, said.

Ahmedabad police had tweeted from its official twitter account and gave the message. If you change your habits, Ahmedabad will change. The police have recently broken the record by collecting of Rs 5.75 crore penalties in the last 3 months.
