The death toll due to coronavirus on Saturday increased to four in Gujarat after a 46-year-old woman died due to the deadly virus in Ahmedabad.
The woman was admitted to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (SVP) Hospital on March 26. Hospital sources said the woman was suffering from hypertension and diabetes and was on a ventilator. This is the fourth death in the state and the second in Ahmedabad.

Notably, a 70-year-old coronavirus positive patient had died in Bhavnagar district early Thursday morning, which was the third death due to the virus in the state. Apart from these two deaths, a patient each from Ahmedabad and another from Surat had succumbed to the viral infection.
Meanwhile, the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the state increased to 53 after six fresh cases of the virus were reported during the past 24 hours.
With the addition of the new cases, now Ahmedabad has 18 positive cases, followed by nine in Vadodara. Eight cases of coronavirus have been reported each from Rajkot and Gandhinagar, seven cases of the virus have been reported from Surat, and one case each has been reported from Bhavnagar, Kutch, and Mehsana.
Health secretary Jayanti Ravi said the six new cases include a 66-year-old man in Vadodara with a travel history of the UK, an 81-year-old man from Gandhinagar, a 52-year-old man from Mehsana, a 70-year-old man from Ahmedabad with a travel history of Indore, a 33-year-old man from Ahmedabad, and a 45-year-old woman from Ahmedabad. Except for the fresh case in Vadodara, all other cases are of local transmission.
