In a major feat, the Ahmedabad Police has become the first comprehensive ISO certified police force in the country. It has been awarded three ISO certifications by URS Certification Limited which include ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018 for meeting the various parameters related to policing. The certifications will be valid till March 1, 2023.
The development was shared by Ahmedabad Police on its twitter handle. The tweet provides: “We are now first ever comprehensive ISO certified police force (114 units) in India. Received ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 from URS Certification Limited. We are committed to serve the citizens of Ahmedabad.
Notably, the scope of activities covered under the certifications includes prevention, investigation and detection of crime, maintenance of law and order, traffic management, record maintenance and updation, safety and security, response time, handling of public complaints and grievances, staff welfare, maintenance and upkeep of buildings, and cleanliness.

ISO 14001:2015: It has been awarded to Ahmedabad Police in recognition of the organisation’s environmental management system.
ISO 45001:2018: It has been awarded in recognition of the organisation’s health and safety management system.
ISO 9001:2015: It has been awarded in recognition of the organisation’s quality management system.
