Ahmedabad’s COVID-19 tally nearing 50,000

Gujarat has reported 1,564 fresh cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours ending 5 pm on Sunday. The addition of the fresh cases has taken Gujarat’s total tally to 2,08,278.

3,969 COVID-19 related deaths in Gujarat

Sixteen deaths were reported in the state in the past 24 hours. The fresh fatalities have taken Gujarat’s COVID-19 related death toll to 3,969. While 11 deaths have been reported from Ahmedabad, three deaths have been reported from Surat. The districts of Kheda and Bharuch have reported one death each.

345 fresh cases in Ahmedabad, 278 in Surat

Of the 1,564 fresh cases reported on Sunday, 278 cases have been reported from Surat, 345 cases have been reported from Ahmedabad, 171 cases have been reported from Vadodara, and 149 cases have been reported from Rajkot

With the addition of the fresh cases, the total COVID-19 case tally in Ahmedabad has increased to 49,765. The total tally has reached 43,386 in Surat, 19,912 in Vadodara, 16,279 in Rajkot and 6,608 in Gandhinagar.

Similarly, the tally has reached 5,292 in Bhavnagar, 3,859 in Banaskantha, and 5,350 in Mehsana.

Ahmedabad’s COVID-19 death toll climbs to 2,047

The addition of the 11 fatalities reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 2,047. The death toll has increased to 897 in Surat, whereas it remains 220 for Vadodara and 101 for Gandhinagar.

1.89 lakh COVID-19 patients discharged so far

According to the health department, there are 14,889 active cases of the virus in Gujarat. Of this, 86 patients are critical and have been put on ventilator support. So far, 1.89 lakh patients have been discharged in the state after being treated for the viral infection. In fact, 1,451 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.
