Ahmedabad: Burglars Strike at 2 Locations, Flee With Rs 10 Lakh


Ahmedabad: Now that the wedding season is in progress, cases of theft have also increased. One such case has emerged from Ahmedabad. A family had travelled to Indore for their son’s wedding. Taking advantage of the opportunity, as the house was closed, burglars fled with gold and silver jewellery and cash worth 4.40 lakh from the house.

As per information obtained, 67 year old Ummangbhai was living at Jawahar Chowk in Maninagar’s Sarvoday society. His son Aniket works at a Pune based Telecom Company. Gold and silver jewellery along with other valuables were brought from the bank since Aniket’s marriage was scheduled. On 2nd December Ummangbhai’s family had left along with Aniket to Indore and returned on 3rd. On return they noticed the window was broken and Rs 4 lakh worth of jewellery and cash were missing from the cupboard. The police complaint was filed, and the Maninagar police, immediately started investigation.

Police believes a professional gang is involved in the robbery and are currently being investigated on the basis CCTV footage from society and street.

In another incident last night at Sangatha Mall in Chandkheda Visat area, smugglers looted R Kumar Opticals and Vodafone store by breaking the lock of the shop stealing nearly Rs 70,000 cash and other valuables. Chandkheda Police has started investigation in the case.
