Now the students of Lucknow Nadwa College witnessed an in tense face off between students and the police as it came to the latest educational institute to be rocked by protests against the newly amended Citizenship Act.
During this demonstration, there is also a clash between the students and the police. However, the situation was brought under the control. SP Kalanidhi Naithani of Lucknow said, “There was stone pelting for about 30 seconds when around 150 people came out to protest and shout slogans. Situation is normal now. The students are now returning to the classroom. “
On Monday morning, the police asked the protesting students to stay in the campus, after which the students started throwing stones at the police. Hundreds of students gathered at the college gate, while policemen were standing on the other side. Stones, bricks and slippers were thrown from the campus. Policemen also threw stones at the students. The situation worsened when the students were trying to come out and the police refused them to come out.
Earlier, students continued to protest outside police headquarters at Jamia Millia Islamia University in Delhi after violent demonstrations and brutal beating of students in protest against the citizenship law. JNU and DU students along with Jamia gathered in support of the students of Jamia and shouted slogans against the police and the government.
