Abhijit Banerjee, Esther Duflo and Michael Kremer worked toghethered method to argue that randomised control trials (RCTs) can lead to better poverty reduction interventions. Banerjee and Duflo have also worked on vaccinations in India, mainly on how to deal with the absence of staff members at various primary health centres.
His parents Nirmala Banerjee and Dipak Banerjee were professors of economics and he studied at the city’s premier South Point School and attended Presidency University in Kolkatta.
