The Congress and the Indian Union Muslim League have given a notice of adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha regarding the rising prices of onions. In this notice, an adjournment motion has been made about the rising prices of onions and other vegetables in the whole country. On Monday, in the Rajya Sabha, senior CPI leader Binay Viswam demanded a discussion on the rapid increase in the prices of onions and pulses.
In Binay’s letter addressed to the Speaker of the House M. Venkaiah Naidu, Viswam said that it is a matter of great concern for the whole country that the prices of essential food items like onions and pulses is increasing sharply. Due to this, ordinary citizens are facing difficulties.

At the same time, Aam Aadmi Party MPs Sanjay Singh and Sushil Gupta protested in the Parliament complex against the increase in onion prices. Attacking the central government, Sanjay Singh said that “32000 tonnes onions rotted away, why didn’t center take action? You can let onions rot away but cannot sell it at lower prices?”
