The Aam Aadmi Party in Surat has accused the BJP of horse-trading in Surat and trying to lure its corporator. AAP leader Manoj Sorathiya has alleged that the BJP was trying to break its numbers. The party has, however, said it will remain united and that it will carry out a roadshow of AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal whether it gets police permission or not.
At a press conference to announce the details of Kejriwal’s roadshow in Surat, Sorathiya said many of the AAP corporators who won have been contacted by the BJP and are being offered bribes to quit the party. He claimed that AAP leaders refused the BJP’s bait.
He said the AAP corporators will stay true to the voter’s verdict.

He said they are also hopeful of getting permission for roadshows and the public meet of Arvind Kejriwal in Surat and that if it is not given they will go ahead with the programme.
The BJP on its part has dismissed the charges levelled by AAP and that it is not in touch with any AAP winners.
AAP won 27 seats in SMC decimating the Congress and becomign the main opposition in the civic body. The Congress did not get a single seat whiel the BJP won 93 seats.
Kejriwal will be coming to Surat on February 26 to take part in a roadshow and events that will be orgnaised by the party to express its gratitude towards voters of the city. Kejriwal had earlier said, , “On February 26, I am visiting Surat to meet you all personally and thank you for trusting AAP.”
Kejriwal had also tweeted about the Gujarat civic polls results and said, “Heartfelt congratulations to the people for introducing a new form of politics in Gujarat.”
