Gujarat ATS had received intelligence inputs that Bangladeshi nationals named Sojibmiyan, Akash Khan, Munnakhan and Abdul Latif have entered India illegally and are currently living in Odhav and Narol areas of Ahmedabad through fake ID proofs. All four are linked to the banned terrorist organization Al-Qaeda. They inspire Muslim youth to join Al-Qaeda. They also raise money to spread Al Qaeda and pass it on to their masters. Based on this input, Gujarat ATS has arrested Sojibmiyan and is interrogating him.
During the interrogation, Sojibamiyan told that he is a resident of Khudro village of Mymensingh district of Bangladesh. Inspired by the ideology of Al Qaeda through his many contacts, he later became a member of Al Qaeda. Sojibmiyan was in touch with his Bangladeshi handler Shariful Islam, who inspired Sojib to join Al-Qaeda. Later on, they were assigned the task of radicalizing the youth, joining Al-Qaeda and raising funds for the organization.
Fake Aadhaar and PAN cards have been found during the search conducted by the Gujarat ATS team. Radical literature published by the media wing of the banned terrorist organization Al-Qaeda has also been found. Gujarat ATS is taking further action against the four after registering a case under UAPA.
