Congress has got a clear majority in the Karnataka assembly elections. However, the new government has not been formed even after four days of the election results. From today once again the discussion has started about the name of next CM of Karnataka. Meanwhile, according to information received from sources, Siddaramaiah’s name has been finalized as the CM of Karnataka. Party president Kharge has approved his name and Siddaramaiah can take oath.

Meanwhile, according to ANI, supporters of senior Congress leader Siddaramaiah were seen celebrating and bursting firecrackers ahead of the decision on Karnataka CM post.
Siddaramaiah is the front runner in the race for the CM and it is almost certain that he will be the Chief Minister. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge can announce his name at any time. Congress sources say that the party high command will talk to D K Shivakumar and will solve his problems.
Meanwhile, there are reports that Shivakumar, Congress president, has been offered the deputy chief minister post along with six portfolios. However, there has been no decision on the offer yet, Shivakumar’s office confirmed the development.
Reports indicated that Siddaramaiah could be the next Karnataka chief minister. His swearing-in is likely to take place on Thursday.
Siddaramaiah belongs to the Kuruba community and this community has the third largest population in Karnataka. Siddaramaiah was earlier with JDS, but he was sacked from there.
At that time, Siddaramaiah talked about ‘retirement from politics’ and returning to the legal profession. He entered the Legislative Assembly for the first time in 1983 after winning Chamundeshwari assembly seat on a Lok Dal ticket. Siddaramaiah has won this seat for five times. He had to face defeat on this seat thrice also.
Born on August 12, 1948, in Siddaramahundi village of Mysore district, Siddaramaiah graduated in science from the University of Mysore and later obtained a law degree from there.
